WBF is organising Mind Sports Organization's Worldwide Simultaneous Pairs on August 22 and August 23, 2000. It would be on the lines of Fifth Friday Championship organised by Herman De Wael.
The magnitude of the championship would be higher with about 10000 tables results being compiled together. | |
Deal of the Week
In this section I would cover one good deal which appeared in the Weekly Bridge Tournaments at Lucknow or in a recent tournament with explanations.

International team trials in US was won by a team which had Larry Cohen & David Berkowitz.
This week's deal shows great bidding by this pair in the finals.
Berkowitz opened weak two . Cohen forced with 2 NT over which Berkowitz's
3 showed feature. Cohen asked for key cards in s
by bidding 4 . Berkowitz's reply showed one key card. Cohen's 5 NT asked Berkowitz to pick a slam and
Berkowitz's reply of 6 showed 4 cards of . Now Cohen was able to raise to 7
counting discards on suit and the fact that Berkowitz would be able to ruff a trick in a side suit in which
he held a singleton.
EW on the other table just played in 6 resulting in a gain of 10 IMP for Cohen-Berkowitz.
