In this section I would be putting together all the information regarding bridge facilities in the various cities in
India. The information may be sketchy at present but would be made comprehensive in future.

Winter Nationals would take place at Polo ground (MPC Gymkhana), Raj Mahal Road, Vadodara from 3-12 January, 2001. | |
Deal of the Week

This week's deal features Anna Malinowski of Norway from Norway's match against New Zealand in the league phase.
North opened 2NT showing both minors & 10-13 HCP. Anna passed as East.
South gave preference to s by bidding 3 .West came in with 3
which got passed around to South who competed again with 4 .This got passed around to Anna who made a brave bid.
"Anna made a quick summary: South obviously has four s, which gives
partner none. South often tends to have a semi-fit in opener's second
suit, so she pictured partner's hand to be at least 6-3 in the majors,
probably 6-4. And a good hand, since South might have made an
invitational bid."
With these thoughts Anna came in with 4 !! which was doubled by South completing the auction.
Play was simple. Ace was led and ruffed by Anna in dummy.Ace of
and another went to North's King who returned a . Anna won the South's Queen with Ace and ruffed a setting up the suit. She went to the dummy with Ace and pitched her on a good . This was ruffed
by South who took another trick with her trump. Anna made her contract yielding +590 and 9 IMPs.
