This week's deal is from Wagar Women's Knockout Teams quarter finals where
Karen McCallum and Kerri Sanborn executed declarer's squeeze.
McCallum was South and was defending a contract of 2 NT by West.
Sanborn led Q which was ducked by the declarer which prompted Sanborn to shift to . Declarer took the trick with 9 and played
queen. This was ducked by McCallum who ducked Jack as well. Declarer now played a to King and next ran s pitching a on last . Declarer now played a towards her queen and McCallum was ready. She won the trick with Ace and immediately cashed Ace. This squeezed the declarer who had a and three s left. If declarer discrded a Sanborn's s would have become good
and if declarer discarded a McCallum's Jack would have become good.
Declarer went one down due to squeeze.
